The other day while my family was at the dinner table we began to talk about nursery rhymes. Surprisingly, my mother and I knew the most. I kept up with her because I knew two parody nursery rhymes from a book called "Other Goose." Other Goose was written and illustrated by and environmentalist named Barbara Wyn Klunder and many environmental themes can be seen throughout the book.
The Cat and the Fiddle
Hey diddle diddle, the cat played fiddle,
The cow recorded the tune.
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
and the dish sailed over the moon.
Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty had a great lake,
Humpty Dumpty made a mistake.
All the King's garbage and all the King's waste,
Was put into the lake, for goodness sake!
