Emma's Monsters

There was a little girl named Emma. She was a happy little girl who loved to dance and sing.

All day long she would dance and sing with her mom. They danced and sang until 9 o'clock when Emma's mom said,

"Time for bed."

So Emma walked upstairs to put on her PJ's and jumped into bed.

A little while later her mom walked into her room and tucked Emma into bed.

She gave Emma a goodnight kiss and turned off the lights.

"Goodnight Emma"

She said.

After the door was closed Emma was left in the dark.

Emma thought she heard a noise coming from outside her window. She said,

"Must be the trees."

She tried to sleep and closed her eyes. But then she heard a noise coming from under her bed. Emma then said,

"Must be the bed."

Once again she tried to sleep. But then Emma heard a noise coming from her closet. She said,

"Must be-"

"CREEEAAAK"

With wide eyes Emma jumped out of bed and opened her door. She ran downstairs and into her mother's arms.

Emma began to cry and said to her mom,

"There are noises coming from my room! From outside! From under my bed! And from my closet!"

Emma's mom just smiled and said,

"It must be the Goodaboodas coming out to play!"

"To play?"

"Yes! The Goodaboodas love to play at night! It is the only time they come out to play."

Emma wiped her tears away and was very curious about the monsters. Emma asked,

"What do they like to play?"

They like to play all different types of games. Each one is different. You are going to have to ask them what they want to play."

Emma then said,

"I have to talk to them?"

"You must! They only find little kids they want to play with. Just bring them some candy and try to talk to them."

So Emma and her mom got a big bowl and filled it with candy.

Emma took the bowl from her mom and slowly made her way up the stairs to her room.

She stood outside her door and slowly opened it. She turned on the lights and saw three little monsters in the middle of her room.

They were a bit taller than her and were very hairy. They had little hands and feet. And had big eyes and big mouths and big noses. One was purple. The next was blue. The third one was green.

Emma asked the monsters'

"Would you like some candy?"

The monsters answered,

"Of course!"

They took the bowl of candy and ate it all up.

Emma asked the monsters,

"So what do you want to do? Do you want to play a game?"

The purple monster said,

"I like to dance!"

The blue monster said,

"I like to sing!"

And the green monster said,

"I like to play my Harmonica!"

Emma then said to the monsters,

"I love to dance and sing! Let's start!"

So the green monster began to play a song. Emma began to dance and sing with the monsters.

After hours of dancing and singing Emma said,

"The sun is coming up! I think I should go to sleep soon."

So the monsters said'

"Goodbye for now!"

And began to leave.

The green monster went out the window.

The blue monster went under the bed.

The purple monster went into the closet.

And Emma fell asleep on the floor.

In the morning Emma's mom went into Emma's room. She said,

"Good morning Emma. How were the Goodaboodas?"

Emma answered,

"You were right mom! The Goodaboodas just wanted to play! We played all night long!"

Emma's mom just smiled and said,

"We can leave another bowl of candy in your room tonight for the Goodaboodas if you want."

"That sounds like a great idea!"

Emma responded.

So they went downstairs to eat and Emma told her mom all about her new friends.
